Hukumar Lafiya ta Duniya (WHO) ta ba da rahoton raguwar masu kamuwa da cutar shan inna (Polio) ta 2 (cvPV2) da ke yaɗuwa a Nijeriya a cikin shekarar da ta gabata da kimanin kashi 38 cikin 100.
A cewar Dakta Walter Mulombo, wakiliyar hukumar WHO a Nijeriya, wanda Dakta Aisha Kadi ta wakilta, adadin masu kamuwa da cutar shan inna nau’in (cvPV2) ya ragu da sama da kashi 38 cikin 100 tun daga shekarar 2023 kamar yadda aka ambata tun farko.
Dokta Mulombo ta bayyana hakan ne bayan wani biki da aka gudanar a wani ɓangare na bikin tunawa da ranar cutar shan inna ta duniya a Maiduguri jihar Borno.
Ta kuma ƙara da cewa, wannan ci gaba ne mai kyau, amma har yanzu akwai ƙalubale a wasu yankunan ƙasar.
“Duk da wannan ƙoƙarin, ƙwayar cutar shan inna tana ci gaba da wanzuwa a yankunan tafkin Chadi da Sahel saboda dalilai kamar rashin tsaro, ƙarancin hanyoyin samun kayayyakin kiwon lafiya da yawaitar zirga-zirgar jama’a,” in ji Dakta Mulombo.
A cewar hukumar ta WHO, a cikin shekarar bana 2024 kaɗai, an gano cutar Polio nau’in cvPV2 guda 134 a yankin Tafkin Chadi.
Duk da haka, ta ƙara da cewa, domin magance hakan, sama da yara miliyan 70 a ƙasashen da ke fama da matsalar, da suka haɗa da Nijeriya, Burkina Faso, Kamaru, Jamhuriyar Afirka ta Tsakiya, Chadi, Mali, da Jamhuriyar Nijar, an yi musu allurar rigakafin cutar shan inna.
Daga ƙarshe Dakta Kadi ta jaddada muhimmancin ci gaba da ƙoƙarin yi wa dukkan yara allurar rigakafi a wannan yanki na Tafkin Chadi.
“Dalilin da ya sa cutar ta shan inna ke bunƙasa shi ne saboda gazawar masu ruwa da tsaki wajen yi wa sauran yaran da ba a yi musu allurar rigakafi ba allurar rigakafin a cikin al’ummomin,” in ji ta.
